Volume, measuring approximately 7" x 9.75", is bound in cloth-backed illustrated paper-covered boards. Book displays shelfwear, with mildly bumped upper outside corners and a small amount of light foxing. Binding is firm. Pages are largely clean and bright, with very sporadic light foxing, concentrated at edges.
A modern reworking of this German children's book, one of the earliest works of children's literature to combine visual and verbal narratives in a book format, considered a precursor to comic books.
