This famous novella depicts the inner drama of Gustav von Aschenbach, a prominent, middle-aged German writer who arrives in Venice intending to rekindle his lost inspiration. Once settled in his hotel, Aschenbach becomes intrigued by a Polish adolescent named Tadzio—a boy of extraordinary beauty—who ultimately becomes the object of the writer's silent adoration.
