Volume, measuring approximately 7" x 9.25", is bound in black cloth, with stamped gilt lettering to spine. Book is in fine condition. Binding is firm. Volume has pictorial endpapers. Interior is clean and bright.  This work, with numerous in-text illustrations by Honorina Lima reproducing codex figures, provides a bibliography, subject and picture indices.
On the representation of "pulque," a traditional alcoholic beverage, in Aztec codices. This drink, made from the fermented sap of the maguey (agave) plant, was considered sacred in Pre-Hispanic Mexico and its use was limited to certain classes of people.
