This volume brings together 12 essays by anthropologist John V. Murra (1916-2006), who pioneered the study of the Inca empire and its subject peoples. Murra was a member of Cornell faculty from 1968 to 1982, as well as director of the Institute of Andean Research and president of the American Ethnological Society.
