"Till recent time the Golden Gates in the Suzdal Cathedral of the Nativity were not studied in detail and the significance of this monument could not be fully understood. However the gates are important not only as a masterpiece of monumental art but also as a unique atlas of iconography of twelfth-thirteenth centuries" (sic).
