Handsome antique volume, measuring approximately 7.75" x 10.75", is bound in dark green cloth, with stamped gilt lettering to spine, as well as elaborate gilt design and multicolor pictorial design depicting villa garden on front cover. Text block has a gilt top edge. Ornate cover design is bright. Faded circular white stain appears in upper half of rear cover, with scuffing and faint scratches also present on rear cover. Mild fraying is visible at top/bottom of spine cover. Lightly bumped outside corners of covers exhibit very minor loss.  Binding is firm. Previous owner's name and date (October, 14, 1919) appear on front flyleaf. Light foxing is present on title page and occasional light foxing can also be seen on captioned tissue guards. This work is lavishly illustrated with 52 illustrations, 27 of which are color plates or half tones by Maxfield Parrish, together with photographs and drawings by E. Denison, Malcolm Fraser and C. A. Vanderhof. All called-for illustrations are present.
