Federico Campbell Quiroz (1941-2014) was a Mexican journalist, essayist, translator and novelist. 
In 1977, using his own resources, he founded the publishing house La Máquina de Escribir, which published the early works of writers—then young—who subsequently went on to develop distinguished literary careers, such as Juan Villoro, Carmen Boullosa, Jorge Aguilar Mora, Bárbara Jacobs, José María Espinasa, Carlos Chimal, Coral Bracho, Antonio del Toro, David Huerta, Rosario Ferré, and Fabio Morábito, among others.
