Heavy folio, measuring approximately 11" x 15.25", is bound in blue silk cloth over beveled edges, with stamped gilt lettering and elaborate ornamental designs to front cover. Book exhibits light shelfwear, with minor abrasion to rear spine edge and two faint scratches to rear cover. Book is otherwise in fine condition. Binding is firm. Interior is clean and bright. Illustrated in both b&w and color, with well-preserved fold-out photographic illustrations (including of Great Wall). Bilingual in English and Chinese. Dust jacket, with price of $35 on front flap, displays very light shelfwear.

Inscribed to Cornell professor, scientist and artist Efraim Racker and wife with English and Chinese inscription by Grace and Samuel Chan. Inscription appears on page opposite title page.
