This illustrated story is an inventive, blackly humorous tale, told entirely in rhymed couplets, about two boys who play pranks. It was written and illustrated by Wilhelm Busch and published in 1865. It has here been translated into a number of German dialects, with eight parallel versions and a number of extracts.
