Volume is bound in black cloth, with stamped yellow lettering to spine. Book is in excellent condition. Dust jacket, without price, displays moderate external wear, with mild rubbing to covers. Rear cover bears contrasting photos of the author (as high school student and after his escape from a Turkish prison). Jacket is now preserved in paper-backed mylar cover. Hayes was a young American student sent to a Turkish prison for trying to smuggle hashish out of Turkey. Basis for the 1978 prison drama film directed by Alan Parker, starring Brad Davis and John Hurt.
