Two-volume set, each volume is bound in green cloth, with stamped gilt lettering to spines and front covers, show light shelfwear. Bindings are firm. Pages are clean and bright. Each volume has two plate sections with b&w photos. Second volume has intact dust jacket.
Memoirs of Alexandre Benois (1870-1960) a Russian artist, art critic, historian, preservationist, and founding member of Mir iskusstva (World of Art), an art movement and magazine. As a designer for the Ballets Russes under Sergei Diaghilev, Benois exerted what is considered a seminal influence on the modern ballet and stage design.
