Two-volume set, each volume is bound in green cloth, with stamped gilt lettering to spines and front covers. Books display very light shelfwear. Bindings are sound. Pages are clean and bright. Each volume has three plate sections with b&w photos and drawings as well as a small number of color illustrations.
Memoirs of Alexandre Benois (1870-1960) a Russian artist, art critic, historian, preservationist, and founding member of Mir iskusstva (World of Art), an art movement and magazine. A designer for the Ballets Russes under Sergei Diaghilev, Benois exerted what is considered a seminal influence on the modern ballet and stage design.
