Volume, measuring approximately 5.25" x 6.25", is bound in original wrappers, with illustration to front cover. Book displays shelfwear, with wear and minor loss at top/bottom of spine. Covers show rubbing and light soiling. Binding is sound. Lightly age-toned pages are clean and without markings. 
This work by Soviet Russian novelist Boris Gorbatov (1908-1954) offers a depiction of the Ukraine under German occupation. This novel was published in the United States as "Taras' Family" in 1946 by Cattell and Company and outside the US as "The Unvanquished." It was rewritten by the author as a screenplay and released as a film under the same name. This was the first feature film to show mass murder of Jews and hunting for them on the occupied territories.
