Volume, measuring approximately 8" x 11", has been rebound in red cloth, with stamped gilt lettering to spine. Book shows light shelfwear, with sunning to spine. Binding is firm. Previous owners' names are neatly written at top of front pastedown. Pages are clean and bright. Full-page plates appear at rear of volume.
This work by French architectural historian Abbé Jean-Louis de Cordemoy (1655 1714) was amongst the first studies of ecclesiastical architecture, wherein he praised the Gothic style for its clear expression of structure.
