Soviet collection of the poetry of Russian writer Boris Leonidovich Pasternak (1890-1960), who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1958.
Introductory text is by Russian writer and Soviet dissident Andrei Donatovich Sinyavsky (1925-1997), a literary critic for Novy Mir and an author of works critical of Soviet society published under the pseudonym Abram Tertz. Sinyavsky emigrated to France in 1973.
