Two volumes in a four-volume set, part 2 of volumes 1 and 2 contains plates. Each volume, measuring approximately 9.5" x 12.5", is bound in navy blue cloth, with stamped gilt lettering to spine. Books are like new. Slipcase, covered in navy blue cloth and color illustrated paper, shows very light shelfwear.
Landmark scholarly work by Austrian art historian and Byzantinist Otto Demus (1902-1990), providing a narrative of a monumental project whose goal it was to restore and document the mosaics of St Mark's Basilica.
