"As its title states, this book is for those who visit Venice for enjoyment. The unique attraction of Venice, the concomitant of being a city built on the water, is that the pedestrian can walk on its streets unmolested by motor traffic. It is a city fo rthe dawdler par excellence. And this is just what the author invites his readers to do. He takes the reader on four walking tours of the city proper and one water bus tour of the islands."
