Volume is bound in white cloth, with author's last name stamped in gold on spine. Book displays mild shelfwear, with very light soiling to spine. Binding is firm. Top edge of text block is tinted blue and displays water markings. The name of Harvard academic Richard C. Marius appears written on front flyleaf. Pages show what are presumably his underling and marginalia. Intact dust jacket exhibits tear along bottom half of rear edge of spine panel, extensive creasing at edges, with minor loss at top spine edge. Jacket is preserved in mylar cover.
